There are several elements we will look at from zones or inputs that can be triggered, doors and how they will react, and alarm and signalling.\u00a0 Firstly we will look at the detection and then the reaction of the system and finally the signalling and notification.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There are a number of zones types that can be used for protecting users, in this article, we will be focusing on<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fire<\/li>\n<li>Fire Exit<\/li>\n<li>Carbon monoxide<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkler<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each of these zones has a very different influence on the system and the system will react very differently so it is important to understand the differences. \u00a0A fire zone is used as an input from a fire detection system or detector, this zone is based in an area which is important as a fire activation will be reported and activated based on the area the zone is located. The Fire zone has a number of important attributes. \u201cLocal\u201d which this attribute is enabled then the fire alarm will not be reported, all other elements of the system will react the same however monitoring systems will not be actively informed that an alarm has occurred. \u201cUnset Local\u201d is a variant of local where when the system is armed the alarm will be reported only. If the fire zone is still active this will be highlighted to the user, while the alarm is active the zone cannot be restored.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pgc-10444-4-1\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-10444-4-1-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-image panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"7\" ><div class=\"so-widget-sow-image class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>The external bell will pulse when a fire alarm is active and will signal that an alarm is active.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-10444-7\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-has-style\" ><div class=\"siteorigin-panels-stretch panel-row-style panel-row-style-for-10444-7\" data-stretch-type=\"full-stretched-padded\" ><div id=\"pgc-10444-7-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-10444-7-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"11\" ><div class=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"><h3 class=\"widget-title\">Note - Keypads<\/h3>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>If you wish you can use a keypad as a trigger for a fire alarm using the SPCK6xx or SPCK5xx , if the option \u201cFire\u201d is enabled the user may trigger the fire alarm by pressing function keys F2 and F3 together.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-10444-8\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-has-style\" ><div class=\"siteorigin-panels-stretch panel-row-style panel-row-style-for-10444-8\" data-stretch-type=\"full-stretched-padded\" ><div id=\"pgc-10444-8-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-10444-8-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"12\" ><div class=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"><h3 class=\"widget-title\">Access control operation<\/h3>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>You may configure the doors of the SPC to switch to unlocked should an alarm occur, for flexibility there are a number of ways this can be achieved<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-10444-9\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-has-style\" ><div class=\"siteorigin-panels-stretch panel-row-style panel-row-style-for-10444-9\" data-stretch-type=\"full-stretched-padded\" ><div id=\"pgc-10444-9-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-10444-9-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"13\" ><div class=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"><h3 class=\"widget-title\">Option 1 \u2013 Area defined<\/h3>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>In each area you can define the exit route, each door selected will switch to unlocked should a fire be triggered in that area<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pgc-10444-9-1\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-10444-9-1-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-image panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"14\" ><div class=\"so-widget-sow-image so-widget-sow-image-default-17bc2272b535-10444\">\n\n<div <\/h3>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>There are two options for each door, you can define the door as \u201cEmergency any\u201d, where the door will unlock if a fire occurs in any area, or \u201cEmergency\u201d where the door will unlock if a fire occurs in that area the door is located.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pgc-10444-10-1\"
